5 Healthy Restaurants in Melbourne Where You Can Maintain Results

By David Ottobre

Looking for healthy restaurants in Melbourne to dine at over Christmas? Good on you!

The Christmas season is upon us, and this means lots of catch ups with friends and family. Part of this tradition is always eating out, and when you’re following a meal plan this can be stressful. It doesn’t have to be though. By picking the right restaurants and knowing how to order, you can stay on track with your results while enjoying the festive period.

You probably already know that as far as results are concerned, eating out isn’t ideal. This is mainly because it is untrackable. However, over Christmas we know that you will probably be eating out here and there, so here are some places you can go and eat a healthy, balanced meal that won’t disrupt your results.

If you stick to whole foods, choose protein options like steak or salmon, and limit sauces and drinks that pack extra calories, you will be able to eat out and stay on track.

Here are 5 options that you’ll love, close to Bentleigh.

5 Healthy Restaurants In Melbourne

Meat and Wine Co.

Meat and Wine Co. is an African chain, serving steak and meats with a selection of salads and sides.

With an array of options like chicken, prawns, beef skewers and steaks, you can easily stay roughly on plan while enjoying a dinner out. It’s an ideal spot for silly season lunches and dinners as it has a classy, luxury feel and serves healthy food.

Of course, you’ll have to be sensible with sauces and sides like in any restaurant. But if you stick to the classic steak, potatoes and a vegetable side, you will be able to have a good meal without sacrificing results.

There’s one in Chadstone and South Yarra. Check it out here.

Butcher and Vine, Hampton

We love Butcher and Vine.

It’s a similar menu to Meat and Wine Co. and offers delicious steaks and sides. The menu celebrates seasonal produce and local ingredients and has a variety of wholefood options. You can easily stay close to your plan, while being looked after by their friendly staff and enjoying the vibe.

Upon entering, guests are greeted by a stylish interior that marries contemporary design with warm, inviting tones. The open kitchen concept allows diners to witness the magic of culinary creation firsthand, adding an interactive element to the dining experience.

The ambiance is lively and sophisticated, making it an ideal spot for both intimate dinners and celebratory gatherings at Christmas time.

Hunky Dory, Bentleigh

This little gem is ideal for casual catch ups.

While they serve lots of high calorie options like traditional fish and chips, they also have whole food winners like the Hunky Bowls and salads. They can put the dressing on the side if you ask, and this means you can eat a clean dinner with no stress.

You can grab a meal that is nutritious and high in protein if you opt for fish, rice and steamed greens. Aside from being slightly off on the macros side of things, you will pretty much be eating on plan!

We love it for last minute catch ups and casual meetings as it allows you to maintain your progress while enjoying a meal out.

Squires Loft, Cheltenham

Just up Nepean highway you’ll find Squires Loft steakhouse.

Squires loft serves Australian cuisine, offering a range of Aussie meats served with chips, or potatoes and side salad. If you opt for the jacket potato, steak and side salad with dressing on the side you won’t go too far off plan.

It’s quite a nice vibe, with an intimate feel and  highly trained staff who provide attentive service. Whether you are celebrating a significant milestone or simply treating yourself to a special night, the atmosphere at Squires Loft ensures that every moment is memorable.

Winston’s, Black Rock

If you feel like venturing a little further afield, why not pop to Black Rock to enjoy the ocean breeze and some delicious food.

Winston’s is fairly new to the foodie scene and offers wholefoods and an Australian menu that can keep you close to your plan while serving some incredible flavours.

Rumour has it that Gordon Ramsay was seen tucking into some food here a couple of weeks ago. If it’s good enough for him, it’s good enough for us!
