The Story

Carol came to coach Luke with very limited weight training experience, only around 6 months. Her background was in athletics in her early years and later in life she focused more on long distance events such as triathlons and marathons. Upon starting with Luke, Dave Ottobre had planted the seed about potentially competing one day. They both saw something special in Carol. She was already in decent shape and had all the ingredients of a winner. She was hungry, willing to learn, humble and had unbelievable work ethic. 

The first priority was teaching her correct technique and movement patterns while also building up her food and teaching her about adopting a food mindset of nourishment and eating for fuel and recovery.  

Carol’s first target was a photoshoot with her big goal being to compete in her first competition. She went on to go from 13 % BF to get down to 3.5 % BF and put on 2 kg of muscle to go on and win everything. 

An amazing effort for busy mum of 5 kids who was relatively new to strength training.

The Numbers

Competed in her first competition and won 8 from 8 divisions including the fitness and sports overall titles at the ICN competition.
